The construction of the 41,000 sf building on this 1 acre site provided the students with a premier facility including classrooms, sound-stages, a motion-capture studio, and productions space for interdisciplinary learning and film (the largest program in the country) television, and other interactive arts and media. Site design for this LEED Project included reduction of rate and volume of the storm-water runoff. In 2010, this project received the AIA Chicago Distinguished Building Award Citation of Merit. Sidewalk design conformed  to meet the City of Chicago Department of Transportation ADA requirements. The project team, under the direction of Studio Gang Architects, completed this $20 million project under budget.
